Rats

Cockroaches

  1.    A cockroach can live for weeks with a decapitated head.
  2.    Cockroaches can hold their breath for up to 40 minutes under water.
  3.    The American cockroach species has a liking to the smell of beer and other alcoholic drink/food.
  4.    Cockroaches are cannibals.
  5.    Cockroaches fart. They waste time 35mg of methane gas every year which is 43 times their body weight!

Ants

  1.    An ant can lift 20 times its body weight. If a second grader were as high as an ant, she would be able to pick up a car!
  2.    Some queen ants can live for many years and have millions of babies!
  3.    Ants have run a slave system. They are known to invade other ant colonies and steal eggs known as dulosis. The young who are forcibly taken are either eaten or put to work.
